Fearon Community Association (FCA)

Fearon Community Association (FCA) was formed in December 1979 and with the support of Charnwood Borough Council leased Fearon Hall from the Church for use as a community centre for the benefit of the local people. Situated in East Loughborough it serves the needs of vulnerable residents living in the wards of Lemyngton and Hastings. The area has been identified as having particularly high levels of deprivation and need. It is a local authority designated priority neighbourhood.

FCA was set up as a charity which registered as a company limited by guarantee in 2009. This was to allow the trustees to further the aims of the organisation and continue to provide opportunities for local people living in Loughborough. The underlying core principles to maintain and improve the quality of life for the local community through community cohesion, social integration and recreational well-being and providing facilities to local groups for recreation, education and training.

Today, through a modern FCA, we continue this tradition and aim to make the Hall a vibrant and flexible centre offering a friendly and welcoming environment and a range of versatile spaces for community use and hire. Providing a host of groups, activities and events for the public to enjoy.

We aim to celebrate and enjoy our broad community in a variety of ways:

Social Inclusion
By increasing opportunities for members of the community to engage with activities that meet individual needs.

Health & Wellbeing
By improving mental health and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Personal Development
By increasing opportunities to acquire skills, build self-esteem and develop confidence.

Community Development
By supporting neighbourhood, community and voluntary sector groups to grow and develop.

We want Fearon Hall to be a place where people can feel safe, welcome and with a sense of purpose and belonging. Encouraging participation through attending community events, volunteering or just somewhere where you can pop in for a coffee and a chat!

Ultimately we aim to provide a responsive community provision that is relevant to the needs of a modern society and work with partners to deliver an exciting, vibrant community centre that is the urban village hall in the heart of Loughborough.
