Fearon Hall is monitoring closely the national guidance that applies to Community Centres across England relating to Covid-19, however we are also fully aware of local restrictions which may be implemented at any point.  Recently the Government implemented the new ‘Rule of Six’ which prevents more than 6 people meeting socially and it is now law that social gatherings of more than 6 people will not be allowed.

Our reopening plans have always been consistent with core public health guidance regarding health, hygiene and social distancing and we will maintain this level until we are sure the virus is no longer a risk.

Having read the guidance for the safe use of multi-purpose community facilities dated 14th September it states that planned social activities in a Covid-secure building can continue as long as numbers in any room do not exceed the maximum numbers which allow 2m social distancing, this means that we are ok to continue with most activities, however social gatherings such as birthday parties have had to be cancelled.

Covid room capacities at Fearon Hall are: –

  • Ballroom maximum 24
  • Main Hall maximum 18
  • Pitts Room maximum 8
  • Chatterbox Room maximum 2
  • DJ Lounge maximum 6
  • Kitchen maximum 3

Anyone running a group from Fearon Hall monitors the numbers of guests in their group to ensure that they are compliant with numbers, they also keep track and trace contact details of everyone attending their group.  Fearon Hall also asks for track and trace details from everyone entering the building.

Groups which we cannot hold at present with more than 6 people include hobby clubs, sewing clubs, craft clubs reading groups, choirs and informal sports. We can host socially distanced performances including singing in our venue as long as we adhere to social distancing and maximum room capacities, we can also host meetings and taught sessions which help with education, health & wellbeing.

Fearon Hall staff are thoroughly cleaning rooms and furniture following every activity or visitor.  Staff and visitors are wearing masks or face shields when moving around the building, however masks can be removed when eating or exercising.  Windows are opened throughout the day to ensure a constant air flow in all rooms and we have hand sanitiser at every door.

There is more work involved to keep our facility open but we are committed to keeping the doors of Fearon Hall open and the building Covid-secure for as long as we can, as we know there are lots of people who need us to be here.  We will only close if we are required to due to a formal lockdown.

We would like to thank everyone who continues to support Fearon Hall, we really do appreciate your help during these difficult times.

Thank you & keep safe

We love you & we will come through this.
