On Friday 25th November, Fearon Hall was one of the host venues for Loughborough Lates, an event hosted by art and culture organisations spread across our town centre and campus. Loughborough came to life with visual art exhibitions and events – all were free to attend and participate in. Other organisations taking part included Institute Research Lab; Loughborough University; Modern Painters New Decorators; and The Sock Gallery.
Fearon Hall was turned into a pop-up ‘art gallery’ for the evening, presenting some intriguing video works and live performances in which artists explored themes of identity, the feminine, loss, land, the supernatural, folklore and otherness. We wanted to support local artists and their work and showcase Fearon Hall as a great venue for arts activities and events. On the night, we had lots of visitors new to the Hall which is always pleasing to see.
Exhibiting their work at Fearon Hall were video artists James Chantry, David Johnson and Jessica Ralph, and live performers, The Lone Ones Collective comprising Miffy Ryan, Natalie Chabaud, Victoria Mason and Deborah Vardy.
Thank you to David Scarborough and his team at Modern Painters New Decorators who initiated and coordinated the whole event, our artists and everyone who came along to support us.
