So, how does the new Tier 2 restrictions for Charnwood which came into enforcement today, effect us at Fearon Hall?
In readiness for Tier 2 we have spent the last week planning so that we can operate in a safe and compliant way whilst still fulfilling our duties as a responsible employer and a centre that meets the needs of our community.
As part of our planning we have consulted with services users, community organisations, our trustees and departments and personnel within Charnwood Borough Council.
Whilst we were legally able to maintain our current level of delivery, albeit under new restrictions, we have taken the decision to modify and prioritise our activities in both our own delivery as well as those who use the Hall for hire for their own group activities. We have done this in order to balance the health and wellbeing of our team and service users with the need to offer a safe place for those most vulnerable in our community to continue some form of social interaction and companionship. The latter was identified as the most important thing by our current regulars!
You will be able to see the nature of these changes in our What’s On and Café in the Hall pages.
As I am writing this, breaking news is that there will be a press conference by the government at 5pm today (Saturday 31st October) to announce what I suspect will be some form of more restrictive lockdown. This will further impact what we do at the Hall and I will keep you posted.
For now, stay safe and look out for each other.
