Café Manager Job Share
17 hours a week, £20k per annum pro rata
We are looking to recruit a food-loving, community-minded person with commercial catering and managerial experience to join our small team. You must be a “people person” preferably with some experience of working with, and supporting volunteers.
Fearon Hall Community Centre is a vibrant resource in the heart of Loughborough, situated next to the beautiful parish green and Loughborough’s oldest building All Saints with Holy Trinity and the enchanting Rectory Museum and Rectory Wild Life garden. We are a community venue – the Urban Village Hall – with rooms for hire, classes and activities, support and opportunity. The Café in the Hall is the heart beat of our community space. A place to meet friends and enjoy affordable, tasty and healthy meals.
Working together with our current Café Manager you will be responsible for building on the existing success of our Café in the Hall. Extending our menu so that it is appealing to our local community and which allows us to run a financially sustainable business. You will be integral in developing activities within the café that connects people through food and delivering a programme that provides opportunities for volunteers to gain confidence through interactions with co-workers, other volunteers and users of the Hall, whilst gaining skills and experience.
The successful applicant will have the following:
• A minimum of Food Hygiene level 2
• Experience of directly managing a kitchen
• Good leadership skills with a real passion for food and working in a community environment
• Experience of designing weekly menus which meet the philosophy of the Hall and our customers
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Great communicator who is adaptable to change
• Proven business acumen
• Expected to work Saturdays
